Privacy Policy

Word Play is an independent, non-profit website meant to showcase the work of unpublished authors and discuss literary works. All submissions are sent to us voluntarily by the author. Writers may send as many submissions as they’d like at their own convenience. Each author maintains the copyright to his or her own piece of literature. We will never republish any works sent to us in any type of literary compilation other than this website.

Word Play will never ask contributors or visitors for personal information such as telephone number, address, or proof of identification. Though we ask for your first name and age in the submission form, we will never share this information with other websites, writers, advertisers, merchandisers, etc. Additionally, we encourage contributors who do not wish to share this information to use an alias and write “N/A” in the age box, as your true identity is not necessary for your work to be published. We also encourage visitors not to share their private information via the comments. We maintain the right to delete all comments that are overtly personal or inappropriate in order to protect site visitors.

The maintainer of Word Play does not keep a database of authors’ names, ages, e-mail addresses or submissions. This information is only present in our password secured inbox during the time we are reviewing a submission for publication. Contributors will never receive an e-mail from Word Play unless it is a direct response to a submission or an inquiry we have received.

If an author wishes to remove their previously publish work(s) from Word Play, they are welcome to do so at any time. They must simply contact the editors at contact@wordplaymagazine.org with the title of their submission(s) and it will be removed upon our reception of the request.

If the privacy policy of Word Play ever alters, the changes will be added to this page and posted on the website’s main page before they take full effect.

Visitors with any additional questions regarding our privacy policy may write to us at contact@wordplaymagazine.org
